Reflection

     Time flies so fast. And YES this is now the end of being  Junior High School student. I have three more weeks left of my junior year of high school. Many things had changed, and I'm not used to those changes. For the past 4 years which I became a high school student, I did not expect the unexpected. I gained new friends, new classmates. That 4 years, I encountered many problems but I surpassed all of them because I have faith in God. I have nothing to say so, I just want to share what I've learned this last quarter. 

     This fourth quarter we tackled about photoshop. When I heard this word "PHOTOSHOP" I suddenly realised that I'm not expert in using this application. I always asked to my mom on how to use this. But even if she explain and demonstrate it I cannot really followed. But when I was grade 9 my mom taught me on how to use this application but I cannot remember now how to use this one. This is not easy for me.
     ICT 10 taught me a lot of things. I'm hoping that I can apply all the lessons that I've learned. And now this is my last blog and I hope that someday I can still post and I will continue to share more ideas to you. I will miss all of the happy memories of my junior year. 

Spread your wings and fly

Dreams are necessary. Without dreams there will be no ambition to chase. There will be no goal to reach. We will all be nothing without dreams. Not having dream is like chasing a traceless murder. It is like following an invisible shadow. We can't achieve anything in life without goals and for tjese goals, we need to dream.

When I was a child, my mom asked me if what I wanted to be when I grow up and my answer is to be a doctor. Everytime we go to the hospital for a check up I feel like I have fulfilled my dream. I feel like I'm one of the doctor there. They say that becoming a doctor is a long journey to study. But I always believe in myself and have the confidence to reach this dream. Someday when I will be a doctor, I will help the poor and the needy. For me being a doctor is not just a career, it is a symbol of joy and hope.

This journey is not easy, it requires a lot of sacrifices. I have always wanted to make a difference in my community, so when I become a doctor, I will offer my services for free. Being a doctor to me is not about the money that I will be earning, it is that I want to help those who cannot afford to pay for medical services. I try to do my best to become a good doctor by studying hard. I have so many plans afyer completing my studies and becoming a successful doctor. 

It is very important to have a big dream. It is not wrong. Even if you cannot achieve it, just make it as your vision. I know that in order to pursue my dream, I will face failure. What am I going through now is just the start. I just find the keys. I am still trying to open the door. When I finally did, I will not hesitate.

117th High School Day Celebration

          Ilocos Sur National High School celebrayes its foundation day every year. This foundation day os one of the most awaited event that teachers and students had been waiting for. This was celebrated last March 1-2, 2019.

          Before this celebration happened the teachers and students were busy practicing for their field demonstration. During the first day of this event the coronation was held. Wherein the King and Queen together with their Prince and Princesses were given honor. In the second day of this celebration, students in each grade level wearing their costumes had a parade around Vigan City. And in the afternoon, the arrival of honors was done first before the field demonstration. As the highlight of this event which is the field demonstration happened the guest speaker gives his message first for this celebration. And after that the field demonstration started, starting from Grade 7 boys to Grade 12 girls. As the field demonstration finished, both Grade 8 girls and boys were announced as the Best Performer. 

          All of us really enjoyed this celebration but it would be more memorable if there are more activities that will be done. But I hope that in the next years they will add more booths and food stalls so that this foundation day will not be boring for the students. 

Pride of the Ilocano culture

         The province of Ilocos Sur has recently celebrated its Kannawidan Ylocos Festival. It is a celebration that lasts from the last week of January up to the first week of February. Included in the course events is the commemoration of the foundation day of the province. The provincial government of Ilocos Sur conceived a festival that will highlight these culture and traditions and attract local and foreign tourists as well. 

          Kannawidan is an Ilocano term which means a feast of all heritages, practices and products in Ilocos Sur. These include traditional tribal rituals, choir and glee club competition, street dance, folk dances, and contemporary dance competitions. These events encourage Ilocanos to learn these songs and dances for sustainability and preservation. This festival aims to create awareness on the preservation of the province rich cultural heritage, practices and traditions, and a showcase of the different agriculture and industry products. One mission of the festival is paying more attention to the children. It is because of the observation that many traditions  songs, dances, and other Ilocano culture are not recognised by the younger generations of the province.

          All of these are evidence that the Kannawidan Festival is already becoming a fast rising festival. Kannawidan indeed is an attraction because it showcases the culture of Ilocanos that made them distinct from other ethnic groups of the Philippines. It was a fun-filled week of celebration of the Kannawidan Festival here in Ilocos Sur.

It starts with me

According to Mother Teresa, "If everyone only cleaned their own doorstep, the whole world would be clean." So what does this say to you?

          To me, it says that we can only change ourselves, and our first priority should be changing our ways and beliefs, cleaning our own doorstep. How can I lead others if I can't lead myself? How can others trust me, or I trust others, if I first can't trust myself? How can I love others if I can't love myself? All these require change within to achieve.

       

Yes, change always begins with us and if we wish to change the world in which we exist, we need to be that change. By changing ourselves we are changing the world. We are ripples. Our thoughts and our actions have an outward effect on the world. We don't have to physically make those changes happen. So while we can make a difference with our actions, we can change the world with our energy. We can inspire millions, we can line up with peace, we can line up with a safe, whole, healthy earth and happy, and passionate people. You do not need other people to line up with this vision in order to experience it. All it takes is you. 

          We must be the change first. We must be willing to look at ourselves honestly and see that which is limiting us and that which no longer serves us in this world. When we are able to do that and dig deep, we can begin to take those first steps towards change. As other see the transformation in us, and we begin to live it, it becomes a ripple effect of change. Try making a change everyday even if it's not a huge one. The small deed will build up to something immense over time.

New Year, New Me

With 2019 around the corner, you'll hear people say "new year, new me" in multiple occasions. This points to resolutions they're making o bring about some major changes in their lives; things like eating healthier, paying off debt or travelling more. Whether or not we believe in resolutions, this time of the year inspires us all to reflect and figure out ways to improve.
          For many people New year is a chance to finally get rid of some old habits and try and make some positive changes to their day to day lives. New year, New me? Oh that is not a phrase that I want to live by this year. I don't see thee need to go and start changing everything about myself just because we're entering new year. I actually like the person that I am, and I don't have the desire to change myself. Entering this new year I don't want to change myself, I want to be the same as the old me but to be a better one.
          I'm at a good place in my life, where I have a better understanding of who I am, and who I want to be. But I also know that there is always a room for a little self improvement, and you will never stop growing as a person. I hope I am the same me that I am today. I hope I still have my smile, outgoing personality, the same positive attitude, and the same love for life that I do now. But I also hope that I can look back on the year and honestly say that I'm an even better person than I was.

Third chapter!

Oh!  Another chapter has ended and completed. And I'm so happy because I learn something new again. And because time runs so fast I did not noticed that this chapter was over. Another chapter, another beginning, another lesson again to discover and learn something more about it.
     During this quarter, we discussed different topics. First is we talked about the tags for adding image, background image, font colors, font faces font size and a lot more.  We are still posting blogs on our accounts about different topics or themes. At first, it was difficult for me to do that web page. But with the help of my classmates it become easier.
     Moving on, I will continue to post more blogs in my blog account so that my writing skills will be develop. And I will continue to share knowledge, new ideas from what I've learned from my teacher . And I will expect that the last  chapter will be an interesting one and more different topics to discuss and learn.

Spirit of Love

Christmas is a time to renew bonds of love. It's a wonderful time when loved ones can show appreciation for each other. It's also a great time to use that love to build bridges of understanding, acceptance and forgiveness- Shelley Landon.

A season when we celebrate the birth of Christ the King, the redeemer of mankind. So, what does Christmas mean to you? Christmas means a spirit of love, a time when the love of God and the love of our fellow men should prevail over all hatred and bitterness, a time when our thoughts and deeds and the spirit of our lives manifest the presence of God. We give each other presents but do we really know the essence of Christmas?

Anyway, the essence of Christmas is not to have a house that is full of Christmas decorations and giving expensive gifts. The real meaning of it is that sharing what you have, not just the material things but also those that can only be felt like a warm, tight hug, a simple thank you, showing our appreciation to our loved ones and forgiveness among others. No matter what people with for these season, what matters most is that the desires of their hearts are granted as long as nobody is hurt.

This should therefore be a period of gratitude to God for sparing our lives and counting us among the living. It should be equally be an opportunity for us to mend our ways with God. The spirit behind Christmas is that of sharing and giving. Christmas is all about love and the birth of the Lord.

We are all EQUAL

     We are all born the same way as humans, and therefore deserve the same rights and acceptance as long as we all follow the laws. But there are certain groups of people who have faced injustice and discrimination because they are of a specific race, skin color and/or culture that some of us consider to be part of lower category of human beings

   I believe all people must be treated equally. Race,sex,age,religion,and other pretty differences should not matter. People in general are equal but hold different statuses in life. You can hold a higher status, have special laws for your race,and be considered above the rest but in the end we are all still the same. Every one has the right to be here on Earth.

    Most of us have a God given belief that all human beings are born equal;which means that everyone has equal qualities and equal attributes and gets equal opportunities to excel in life. They said that all men are created equal. I try to live by this ideal. My parents taught me that I should accept all people and treat them equally. Human rights are universal in nature, to mean that they are applicable in every part of the universe to everyone. 

     I hope that someday, when a person looks at another they won't judge them until they actually meet them. Race, sex, age, and religion don't make someone any less of a person. A person's age should not matter. Both young and old should have the same rights. As long as a person is educated, they have a right to form an opinion about it.

Isulong: Tamang Pag-aaruga para sa lahat ng bata

    
Kay dami ng mga bata ang pakalat-kalat sa lansangan. Mga batang halos mamatay na sa gutom. Mga kabataan na dapat nagsisipag-pasok sa paaralan. Nasaan ba ang kanilang mga magulang?

   

   Kung hindi sana pabaya ang kanilang mga magulang ay maiiwasan ang mga karumal dumal na mga krimen. Kasalan ng mga pabayang magulang kung bakit nalilihis sa tamang landas ang kanilang mga anak. Ang mga magulang dapat ang magsilbing modelo sa loob man o labas ng tahanan. Ang mga magulang ang unang tao na nakagisnan nila sa mundo. Ang mga magulang ang huhubog at mag-aakay sa kanilang mga anak patungo sa tamang landas ng buhay. Hindi ko lubos na maintindihan ay kung bakit napakaraming mga kabataan ang napapariwara ang buhay. May mga bata pa nga na nagtatrabaho upang may makain sila imbes yung magulang ang nagsasakripisyo ay yung mga anak ang gumagawa. Tanong ko sa aking sarili, "Bakit may ibang mga magulang na ginustong magkaanak pero pagdating na nang responsibilidad nila bilang isang magulang ay hindi nila ito ginagampanan? Bakit pa ba sila nagkaanak kung hindi naman nila kaya o di kaya'y hindi sila handa na harapin ang responsibilidad na iyon?"

   Responsibilidad ng mga magulang ang tamang pag-aaruga nila sa mga anak. Kinakailangan nila ng haba ng pagtitiis at pagtitiyaga. Kailangan na magkatuwang palagi ang magulang sa lahat ng bagay upang mapalaki ng mabuti ang kanilang mga anak. Dapat na maglaan sila ng oras at panahon para sa kanilang  mga anak upang hindi kailanman maligaw ng landas.
 
   Sabi nga ni Jose Rizal na ang kabataan ang siyang pag-asa ng bayan. Kaya pinagsisikapan ng mga magulang na pag-aralin ang kanilang mga anak. Kaya ngayon huwag sanang pababayaan ng mga magulang ang kanilang mga anak upang hindi sila maligaw ng landas.

      It is not a secret that reading is the key to success. We have been told and taught this from a very early age. It has been proven that children who read better, perform better in school and have a more active imagination, leading to a larger world and more possibilities for success. 

Words. We use them daily. They are an essential part of communication. Reading is the single most important skill necessary for a happy, productive, and successful life. 

  Educators have said for years how important reading is for student success which is quite true. However, it is more than that. Reading is important for life success. The more you know, the smarter you grow. 

  From time to time people have wondered why reading is important. There seems so many other things to do with one's time. Reading is important for a variety of reasons. So, why is reading important? First, reading is important because it is the vital skill in finding a good job. Many well-paying jobs require reading as a part of job performance. Second, it is how we discover new things. A person who knows how to read can educate themselves in any area of life they are interested in. We live in an age where we overflow with information, but reading is the main way to take advantage of it. And last, reading is important because words- spoken and written- are the building blocks of life. You are, right now, the result of words that you have read or heard and believed yourself.  What you became in the future will depend on the words you believe about yourself now.

Mapanuring paggamit ng gadgets tungo sa mapagkalingang ugnayan sa pamilya at kapwa

  Mula sa pagsikat ng araw hanggang sa paglubog nito gadgets lang ang ating hinahawakan at tinututukan. Wala na tayong ibang ginagawa kundi humiga at hawak-hawak ang cellphone. Minsan nga din ayaw na nating gumalaw kahit inuutusan tayo ng ating magulang. Sabi nga nila ang gadgets at may napakalaking papel na ginagampanan sa pang-araw-araw na buhay ng tao. Pero paano kung nasosobrahan na natin ang paggamit nito? Hindi ba't pag nasobrahan mo ang paggamit nito ay nakakasira sa iyong kalusugan at pati na rin sa iyong pag-aaral?

   Tayo na ngayon at nasa makabagong panahon na, na kung saan nakadepende na lahat ang ating mga gawain sa teknolohiya. Umuunlad na nga ang ating panahon ngayon. Napakarami na ngang bagong teknolohiya gaya na lang ng mga cellphone, computer, iPod at iba pa. Marami ding tao ang pabor sa pag-angat ng teknolohiya dahilan na din na nagbibigay ito ng mabuting dulot sa pamumuhay natin. Ngunit minsan talaga marami nang mga kabataan ang nasosobrahan sa paggamit ng gadgets. Kahit man nasa hapag-kainan tayo, halos lahat ng buong pamilya ay gumagamit ng cellphone. Mas pinipili pa nga nilang makapag-isa kasama ang kanilang cellphones kaysa makipag-ugnayan sa kanilang kapwa at pamilya. Nalilimitahan na nga ang kanilang komunikasyon dahil mas pinipili nilang makipag-usap sa ibang tao sa pamamagitan ng social media. Hindi na nga nila mabitawan ang mga ito kahit saan man sila pumunta. Para nga sa ibang tao naging pamilya na nila ang gadgets kaya hindi nila ito maiwan-iwan. Kaya dapat kinakailangan nating alamin ang ilang mabuti at masamang epekto ng gadgets.

   Alam naman nating lahat na may mabubuting epekto ang gadgets sa atin isa na rito ay ang mabilis na pagresponde sa mga kaganapan, mabilis na pag-connect sa mga tao kahit malayo man sila, at nakakatulong din sa pag-aaral ng mga kabataan. Ngunit sa kabila ng lahat ng kabutihang naidudulot ng gadgets, mayroon at mayroon pa ring masamang epekto nito gaya na lamang ng pagiging tamad natin, pagkalulong dito na nagiging addiction, at maaaring makasira sa ating pag-aaral dahil sa mga online at offline games. 

   Dahil dito kinakailangan nating maging mapanuri sa pagamit ng gadgets lalong-lao na sa mga kabataan upang makamit natin ang mapagkalingang ugnayan sa pamilya at sa ating kapwa. Kailangan na alalahanin natin ang mga gadgets ay maaaring makasira sa ugnayan natin ng ating pamilya. Kaya huwag nating abusuhin ang paggamit ng gadgets at kung kaya nating balansehin ang paggamit nito, gawin natin! Laging tandaan na hindi puro mabuti ang mga naidudulot nito. Gamitin natin ang mga ito sa tamang paraan.

Another discovery has ended

     Look! Another chapter has ended and completed. And I'm so happy because I learn something new again. And because time runs so fast I did not noticed that this chapter was over. Another chapter, another beginning, another lesson again to discover and learn something more about it. 

     During this quarter, we discussed different topics. First is we talked about Internet Access by which individual terminals, computers, mobile devices, and local area networks are connected to the global Internet. Second is the HTML or sometimes called as HyperText Mark-up Language. In this lesson I learn on how to create a HTML documents. For me in creating HTML document it is both difficult and easy. It is difficult because you must know and memorize  first all the HTML tags so that you can easily create a HTML document. In creating or doing this you must be careful with every symbols you will type. We also make another blogs which is all about the theme of Science Month, UN and Teachers' Day.

     There are those times that I encountered problems and one of it is I'm too slow in typing and sometimes I don't know and I don't even remember what would be the first tag to type. But with the help of our teacher and also my classmates I was able to surpass these challenges and I was able to learn what my teacher and my classmates have taught me. Another challenge that I've faced again is that writing an article. As I have said during the first quarter, I'm not good in making articles and I can spend more time to think until I will finish it. 

     Moving on, I will continue to post more blogs in my blog account so that my writing skills will be develop. And I will continue to share knowledge, new ideas from what I've learned from my teacher . And I will expect that the last two chapters will be an interesting one and more different topics to discuss and learn. 

Coming together with those furthest behind to build an inclusive world of universal rights and dignity

     

   The 2018 theme, "Coming together with those furthest behind to build an inclusive world of universal rights and dignity" reminds us of the importance of the values of dignity and solidarity, as well as the call to action to end poverty everywhere.

     Some of the poorest people are the most dignified. And some of the richest lack dignity. In a world of poverty and injustice, who are the undignified? Is it the poor or the rich?

     Dignity is a word that overturns traditional assumptions about north and south, developed and developing. Dignity lens introduces an irony whereby the "less developed" can actually be more dignified. In this way, development becomes a truly global endeavors not by the "developed" for the "developing", but by all, for all, to achieve the dignity of all.

     Extreme poverty is undignified, sometimes communities or individuals do find themselves helpless and in need of crisis or ongoing assistance. But that isn't a sufficient understanding of the experiences of most poor people. Whether in city or countryside, very poor people tend to work for a better life.

     Dignity must be deployed as a moral concept in order to measure the degree of decency of a civilization. Backed by a framework of rights, dignity creates a sense of self respect, which can be reflected in demeanor and body language.

Heroes

     Teachers' Day is a special day for the appreciation of teachers and may include celebrations to honor them for their special contributions in a particular field area, or the community in general.

     Our school celebrates teachers' day in a unique manner. We give a break to our teachers from their routine at that day. All the students of our school take this opportunity to tell the teachers how much they love and respect them. We also give them cards, bouquets and some gifts. Those happy smiles on their faces are rewards enough for us. Honoring teachers and giving gifts to them as a symbol of obligation towards their service, has become a tradition and an integral part of teachers day celebration

      In this day we celebrate and thank our dearest teachers for their hardwork and dedication. Teacher's contribution to a society cannot be easily ignored. It is then obvious that we should take a day to honor those who have been our torchbearers to the path of righteousness and success. Even though they scold us sometimes, they shout in the class but they had a purpose and it is to discipline us. Look! There are so many professionals now, doctors, lawyers, engineers, architects, and many more and this is because of some heroes. Yes, teachers are like our parents, our second parents. They teach us the best that they can do in order us to learn more and to gain knowledge from them.
     We cannot return back all the knowledge that our teachers had bestowed us with, in a single day or even in ages, but we can honor them by taking out some time to show our respect, love and gratitude for them.

     This theme aims to focus on giving importance to Michael Faraday's discovery of electricity and magnetism as part of the same phenomenon (electromagnetism), which is now the cornerstone of human technological advancements that brought significant changes in the world until today, and even upcoming changes in the future.

    Our personal life is highly dependent on the technology that people have developed. Technology has advanced with years and it has changed the way we purchase products, the way we live, the way we communicate, the way we travel, the way we learn and so many changes have been brought about by these continuous technological advancements. As people's demand and life style change, the demand for advancing the type of technology we use is high.

     The effects of technological advancements are both positive and negative. Positively, technology advancement has simplified the way we do things, it saves time, it increases on production, it simplifies communication, it has improved health care and it has also improved our education environment. Negatively, technology advancement has made humans so lazy, technology users are so dependent on new advance tech tools, this laziness has resulted into less innovation, it has increased on health risk because technology users exercise less. 

     Technological Advancements have helped business organizations save time and cost of production which has been an advantage to all business, they manage these advancements to gain competitive advantage.

Experience,Suffer,Start

          Disaster Resilience is the ability of individuals, organizations, communities to adapt to and recover from hazards, shocks, or stresses. Disasters are highly disruptive events that cause suffering, deprivation, hardship, injury and even death. We do not know when and what time the disaster may happen. This may happen anytime so we must always prepared to face this disaster. 

             

           We all know that Philippines is known to be a disaster prone country because it is located on the Pacific Ring of Fire. So we always experienced natural disasters like earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and many more that can lead us to death and destruction of properties. This past few years people in Tacloban City, Leyte experienced Yolanda's ferocity where many people suffered, injured, and died. Many properties and structures were destroyed. They also grief for their loved ones who died. Some of them were sad because of what happen. It's just like a bubble that suddenly loses all your hardships in life. In this kind of situation, we must accept the fact and start a new beginning, a new life. 

          Recovery takes time. It is important to allow yourself time to process your circumstances and regain a sense of normalcy. There are things you can do to heal and rebuild. First, allow yourself extra time to get things done. Second, release your emotions and tension by talking to someone you trust. This can help put things into perspective. 

           No matter how the disaster destructive is, we should always stay strong and be brave. we must help one another. We must think about the welfare of others not only ourselves. Let us not lose hope and have trust in the Lord. We will start our lives again and we must be ready anytime so that when this tragedy or disaster happens again we will be prepared.

A New Chapter: Beginning

           During the first quarter, we discussed different topics. First we discussed about the history of the internet. In here I have learned how the internet started and how it really works. Second, we discussed is all about blogs. Here, I learned on how to create a blog. As a student blogging can offer many opportunities to us to develop our skills in communication, expand our creativity and improve our writing skills.And the last we discussed is the search engines in which there are ways to find answers. There are also steps and terms to know.

             I encountered a lot of challenges. First is we compose an articles to be posted on our blog accounts. When our teacher tell us on what to do I had no any idea because I'm not good in writing an essay. I spend a lot of time to think on how to start it and to think on what will I write. And so, sometimes I surf on the internet and I find it easier to write an essay. And sometimes when writing I get distracted so I prefer being alone. 

                Despite of the many challenges, I was able to surpass these. So with the help of the internet, I can surf information about the given topics which can help me in making blogs easier.

                 Moving on, I will continue to post on my blog account so that my writing skills will be develop. And I will continue to share my knowledge to other. I will apply what I learned from these challenges.

Wikang Filipino: Daan sa kaunlaran

          Tuwing buwan ng Agosto ay ipinagdiriwang ang Buwan ng Wika o Buwan ng wikang pambansa. Filipino: Wika ng Saliksik, ito ang tema ngayong 2018 na ang ibig sabihin nito ay ang Wikang Filipino ay mainam na instrumento sa isang mahusay na pagsasaliksik. Ano nga ba ang saliksik? Paano nga ba makakatulong ang pananaliksik ang wikang Filipino? Sa anong paraan nito maipapakita ang damdaming makabayan ng Pilipino? Wikang Filipino nga ba ang magiging daan upang umunlad ang ating bansa?

        Ang saliksik o research sa Ingles ay isa sa pinakamahalagang elemento sa pagpapaunlad ng kaalaman. Ito ay ang proseso ng pangangalap ng mga totoong impormasyon na humahantong sa kaalaman. Isinasagawa ito sa pamamagitan ng paggamit ng kung ano ang nalalaman o napag-alaman na. Ginagamit ang saliksik sa maraming bagay kagaya na lamang ng paggawa ng thesis at iba pang pag aaralan na kaugnay sa edukasyon. Isipin natin na may kahalagahan ang wika sa ating buhay. Kung wala tayong wika paano na tayo makikipag-ugnayan sa ibang tao? Paano na natin mailalahad yung saloobin sa isa't isa? Hindi niyo ba naiisip na mahirap makipagtransaksiyon o makipag-ugnayan sa ibang tao. Kung wala tayong wika maaaring maging bunga ito ng kawalan ng komunikasyon sa pagitan ng mga tao. Ang wika ay maaaring magsulong sa pagbabago at pag-unlad sa ating bansa.

           Kailangan nating pagyamanin pa ang wikang ito. Dahil ito ang magiging susi sa pag-unlad ng ating bansang Pilipinas. Mas tangkilikin at gamitin natin ang ating sariling wika. Sabi nga ni Dr Jose Rizal " Ang hindi marunong magmahal sa sariling wika ay higit pa sa malansang isda".
